Blackberry pie lovers! This is Day 22 of my October Ink Challenge: Yellowjellover, which is #inktober52/#inktober2020* + #linktober2020 + #love. I’ll be posting my work every day, so please keep an eye on The Cake | us vs reality !

Here’s day 22: “Stranded” + “Favorite Character”

“And He will get You.

Not because He is a perfect reflection of You.

But because He is both:

The Best and The Worst of Yourself”.

One of my favorite scenes ever, considering series, movies, books, and videogames, is, without a doubt, Ocarina of Time‘s Dark Link Battle. It is not only aesthetically stunning: it is meaningful, moving, and stressful.

When I was trying to find a concept that could merge “Stranded” (inktober) and “Favorite Character” (Linktober), I hit a creativity wall: I could only imagine a character stranded on an island for no reason. I drew something that I attached as a Funny Bonus, but in the end, I knew I needed something a bit more profound. BTW, the image is also a SWORD!

This is my ode to the beauty and monstrosity of Dark Link and the reflection of the self.
